Where the habits came from
DSR Moving Corporation grew out of frustration with movers who showed up late, rushed the wrap, and left the customer to argue about a scratched dresser afterward. We built our crews around the opposite pattern from day one.
Every job starts with a walk-through, either in person or over a video call, so the crew knows the box count, the stairs, and whether a piece is going through the front door or a patio slider before the truck ever pulls up.
Who runs it
I am Callum, and I handle day-to-day operations at DSR Moving Corporation, from scheduling crews to walking through the trickier jobs myself when a house has a piece that needs special handling.
Most of my week is spent on the phone with leasing offices and HOA managers across Cary and Morrisville, confirming elevator bookings and parking rules before a crew ever shows up on site.
What every crew member learns
New movers spend their first days learning to pad and wrap furniture, build a tight load in the truck, and handle a hand truck safely on a ramp, and none of them are sent to a customer's house until Callum has watched them do it right.
Because the Triangle's summers are genuinely humid, part of that training covers packing materials and load order for heat and moisture, not just for the standard bumps of a road trip.
How we think about growth
Cary and the towns around it have grown fast over the last several years, and a lot of the people we move are arriving here for the first time, often for a role near Research Triangle Park.
We try to be the kind of local business that makes that arrival easier rather than one more thing to figure out, answering questions about the area honestly even when they have nothing to do with the move itself.
What you can expect
On time, respectful of your home, and willing to tell you plainly if something is not going to fit through a doorway before we try it anyway. If a problem comes up during the day, we say so and offer a plan rather than hoping you do not notice.
